Other details: |
My car is currently configured as a competitive vintage racecar #63, with full interior, all glass and interior aminities, clock, radio, heater, etc. and cosmetically matches Delmo Johnson's 63 Z06, as raced at the 1963 Sebring endurance race where he finished 2nd in class. |

Car history: |
Bought new in 1963 in Columbus, Texas, by a medical student who became a plastic surgeon (still living). I raced a 69 L-88 in IMSA, and my (Richardson Chevy) mechanic also had this doctor as another client. In 1973, the doctor bought a 73 BB and sold this Z06 to his mechanic. Two years later, in April 1975, my mechanic had some financial problems, and sold the Z06 to me. I have owned it ever since, and hae no plans to ever sell it. In the summer of 1984, Formula 1 came to Dallas in the USGP @ Dallas on July4th. I was invited by the organizer to race my Z06 in the Historic class support race (3rd behind Bob Bondurant, Lola T70, and a Ford GT40MKII) . That began my more than 25 year involvement with vintage racing (SVRA, HMSA, HSR, etc) that culminated with my invitation to participate in the 2005 Monterery Historic Races by organizer, Steve Earle. |
